| Overview: |
The person in this role will lead development of a production manufacturing process for Evergreen Solar’s String Ribbon crystal growth technology.
|
| Responsibilities: |
- Refine crystal growth process to improve wafer quality
- Design and modify hot zone to create thermal environment desirable for crystal growth
- Detailed design for manufacturing and assembly of hot zones
- Interact with process development group to define process needs
- Interact with equipment design group to ensure equipment meets process needs.
|
| Qualifications: |
- The candidate will have an advanced degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, or applied physics (PhD or at least 5 years experience) and at least two years experience in a hands-on development role.
- Experience in crystal growth and optimizing growth conditions for improved materials quality
- Experience designing equipment for thermal processes
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other related design packages
- Familiarity with materials properties and characterization techniques
- Experience in working with vendors to design to reduce costs
- Experience in design for assembly and design for manufacture and geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Demonstrated initiative in developing new processes.
- Experience with high temperature, graphite, thermal expansion, DFM, DFA, and thermal design
